Christine Gabali, Ed.D. - Founder and President
Dr. Gabali, Founder and President of IASE, International Alliance in Service and Education, envisioned a program that empowers communities and students through education and development that go beyond charity. The objective of her vision was to develop an educational program based on the service learning pedagogy to encourage students to have an opportunity to develop their ethical awareness reflecting on their moral and civic responsibility while studying and working nationally and internationally.
Dr. Gabali received her doctoral degree in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco, a Masters degree in Education from Stanford University, and another Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Gabali has co-authored and published several articles on community topics in the area of prevalence of diabetes, beliefs regarding the etiology of diabetes and uterine cancer. She has been invited to present her work on ethics on health and education within an international service learning program at many conferences both in the U.S. and abroad.
Dr. Gabali is a professional member of the International Health Medical Education Consortium (IHMEC), the National Society for Experiential Education, the Community-Campus Partnerships for Health, and the Association of International Educators.
Dr. Gabali has taught at Stanford University, CAL State University Hayward, and Foothill College, and was the senior research associate at the division of adolescent medicine at the department of pediatrics at the University Medical School.
In addition to serving as the President of IASE, she has also served as program developer and resident director for the Child Family Health International for their Mexico Program.
Dr. Gabali is fluent in Spanish, French, German, and Arabic, and understands Italian as well. Her interest in international health, education, and the role of ethics within these has been her passion since her childhood and the influence of her father, who was an attorney and judge in international affairs.
